RecruitmentPlus in partnership with our client have an opportunity for an Analytical Chemist to join their team based in state-of the-art facilities in Kingscourt.

Ideally the Analytical Chemist will have experience in analytical techniques and method development. This is an interesting role working with organic, inorganic and composite materials.

Commutable from areas in Co.s Cavan, Meath, Louth, Monaghan.


  • Hold a Degree in Analytical Chemistry or related discipline.

  • 2+ years experience in an instrumental laboratory environment and a range of chemical analytical methods such as GC, HPLC, Karl Fisher, Microscopy, FTIR.

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001.

  • Great communication and people skills.

  • Able to work to H&S requirements.

  • Be a problem solver, able to interpret data and log/keep accurate records.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organise and progress your own work as part of Chemical Analytical Project Teams to meet objectives agreed with the Senior Chemical Team, the Analytical Manager and the Chemical R&D Manager.

  • Laboratory support to the wider chemical R&D team, including sample preparation & testing and analysis of company products.

  • Perform cup tests and box moulds of development formulations, employing a wide range of analytical techniques to characterise them.

  • Conduct fire testing on company products.

  • Develop methods of analysis to support chemical projects.

  • Follow current analytical practices in line with approved procedures and with reference to international standards (ISO/EN/ASTM), in-house processes & regulations.

  • Be responsible for the operation of laboratory systems and documentation

  • (e.g.: equipment maintenance records, SOPs, risk assessments, training records etc.)

  • Other duties as required.
