Description of Role: We are actively recruiting for a Business Development Manager for one of our blue-chip multinational clients to join their global team.
This is a very exciting opportunity for an experienced business development manager or senior key account manager with experience selling into Medical Device, BioPharma or Pharma manufacturing clients.
The BDM is a new role which has come about due to expansion and growth. This is a stand-alone position in Ireland responsible for sales and development within the Irish market (North and South). Working as part of a global BD team, your direct medical device team colleagues will be based in EMEA and USA, however, there is support from a local Irish team working across other business units.
This role requires a proven track record in Key Account Management and Business Development with specific experience in a related industry (Medical Devices, BioMedical, Pharmaceuticals, Biopharma etc). It is an excellent opportunity for a technical sales professional, who enjoys a highly visible role and thrives in role where they are given autonomy to develop.

The target client base includes, Medical device OEMs, Contract manufacturers, Design organisations and Start-ups. Our client supply a broad range of products into this sector and the role of the BDM will be to work closely with clients to anticipate their needs and support them in their optimising their manufacturing and R&D processes.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Primarily responsible for meeting and exceeding assigned territory, product line or market goals and objectives in terms of gross sales, increasing market share for strategic products and capabilities identified as well as new customer acquisition.
Will remain tied to our existing customer base business and gross sales through collaboration with our customer success team, but the goals and objectives will be heavily weighted toward new business development. The BDM will also monitor the competitive environment and adjust territory selling and business strategies accordingly.
The BDM will collaborate with marketing to assist in the development of advertising and promotional programs, telemarketing plans and tradeshow participation necessary to achieve product line sales objectives.
Will maintain effective communication with BU management, staff, customers and prospect base working with manufacturing operations to provide accurate and timely information regarding customer demand to support new sales (new customer acquisition and new sales from existing customers) as well as service objectives.
Candidates will ideally have:
Extensive Professional sales and business development experience within a regulated industry, ideally Medical Devices or related.
Specific experience selling to large OEM customers.
Technical understanding of product development life cycle
Excellent communication, presentation and organisational skills.
A qualification in a related field; ideally engineering / product design / product development / business .
A drive to develop and grow business together
A keen understanding of customer relations and development.
This role will require travel across the island of Ireland
