Our client, HealthTech Ireland, is an independent trade association representing manufacturers, developers and distributors of health technology products and solutions to the health system in Ireland. Our members provide digital, diagnostic and device solutions to help people live healthier lives. The association supports policy development and advocacy to champion innovation and access to health technologies, that address a broad spectrum of healthcare needs.

HealthTech Ireland‘s membership includes start-ups, SME‘s, distributor and global organisations. They are growing in membership, across various company sizes and across a broader healthcare landscape and are currently recruiting a HealthTech Director to join their leadership team and work closely with the CEO.

 

Scope of the role:

  • A key growth area within the heath tech landscape in Ireland is within the area of digital health. The HealthTech Director will be the digital health subject matter expert within the organisation as such a background in digital/ehealth is highly desirable.

  • HealthTech Ireland is a trusted partner in healthcare. The HealthTech Director will play a key role in continuing to build trusted partnerships and support the on-going growth and development of the organisation.

 

  • Together with the CEO, the director will support the organisations‘ position as a key contributor in facilitating public and private sector healthcare providers, strategically meet common goals.

 

  • This role will require you to work with stakeholders to generate added-value to the broader healthcare innovation landscape by demonstrating leadership and enhancing contributions and insight to healthcare policy development.

 

  • This role will act as a key stakeholder manager, engaging with a wide spectrum of disparate stakeholders and members from the medical technology and aligned industries, to encourage and facilitate increasing engagement and collaboration on healthcare transformation.

 

  • The HealthTech director will help to identify opportunities for cooperation and collaboration with other relevant third-party organisations. This is with a shared common agenda to drive adoption, efficiency and access, to improve the resilience of the healthcare system and patient outcomes. The director will then report on and communicate updates on these collaborations to the executive.

 

  • The HealthTech Ireland Working Groups run by the executive and members is a critical element of operations in the organisation. This role will involve leading and supporting some of these groups including the Digital Health Working Group.

 

  • The HealthTech Ireland team run several key events during the year including member education sessions, cross sector roundtables and the National HealthTech Innovation awards. This role is important in ensuring the success of events through identifying key opinion leaders and being up to date on the latest developments in healthcare.

 

  • As part of this role, the HealthTech director will support HealthTech Ireland‘s work on value based healthcare.

Reporting to the CEO, day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Continuous communication with members on updates and progress reports. Liaise with members around membership issues, addressing their concerns and challenges through appropriate channels.

  • Grow the membership base and retain current members through highlighting added value and benefits of membership.

  • Identify and engage with potential new member companies and stakeholders to join and/or work with HealthTech Ireland.

  • HealthTech Ireland has several working groups carrying out important initiatives. This role involves responsibility for working with members to ensure the successful operational running and delivery of strategic objectives for existing and evolving working groups, in particular digital health and value-based healthcare. This role will also support colleagues in the delivery of organisational objectives of their working groups.

  • Together with the team, delivery of the 2024 – 2027 HealthTech Ireland Strategy to be launched in May.

  • Implement divisional strategies and policies and plan the use of budgets and resources to achieve the identified desired outputs.

  • Identify and agree a range of actions to give insight and add value to members across the sector, e.g. commissioning reports, round table discussions, running events, reviewing and disseminating EU and global regulatory and policy updates, advocating industry needs to relevant government and HSE stakeholders.

  • As a member of MedTech Europe you will be required to attend and represent members at the relevant working groups at MedTech Europe, primarily online. This will require taking the key learnings from this to the executive and members to inform and plan and in turn gain insights from members, to deliver on their behalf to MedTech Europe.

  • Build and maintain collaborative working relationships with other National and international organizations such as the HPRA, HIQA and Embassies.

  • HealthTech Ireland runs several events that provide information, education and networking opportunities. It also ensures the organisation has its finger on the pulse of what members need. This role will require the individual to work with the team to organise and deliver events effectively and within budget. These events include member education sessions, cross sector roundtables and topical meetings. This role will include specific responsibility for the delivery of the National HealthTech Innovation Awards supported by colleagues. As such this role is important in identifying key opinion leaders and being up to date on the latest developments in healthcare. Identifying key papers and insights from resources and ensuring these are communicated to members through media and membership engagement channels.

  • Support the organisation in ensuring membership fees are up to date.

  • Support the organisation around initiatives when required.

  • Ensure smooth running and procedural correctness of meetings and discussions, briefings and up to date documentation.

  • Keeping membership platform up to date.

 

What is required to be successful in this role:

Education:

Ideally an advanced university degree together with relevant work experience within the broader healthcare sector (>8 years+). Extensive relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced university degree.

 

Skills and experience

HealthTech Ireland are looking for an individual who is highly competent, with excellent communication skills and has a strong team player mentality.

Has broad knowledge of the Irish healthcare system.

Highly developed organisational and interpersonal skills.

Works to high ethical standards and can ensure adherence.

Flexibility, an ability to prioritise and well-developed time management skills.

The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to interact and work with others in a diverse and agile way.

Previous knowledge/experience of digital health/ehealth will be a very distinct advantage. Commercial experience in account and stakeholder management is beneficial.

This role is being recruited for on a Part-time basis (32 hours per week). Competitive pro-rata salary.

Ideally candidates will be based in the greater Dublin region to facilitate regular meeting attendance, with the position home based.
