This role will deliver an excellent category management service enabling a safe, cost-effective and sustainable supply of equipment and services in a professional, cost effective and compliant manner.

Requirements:

• Hold a Degree level qualification or equivalent by experience

• Studying towards MCIPS Chartered Procurement and Supply Professional qualification

• Good numerical and analytical skills with ability to assimilate information

• Good direct and indirect category management experience

• Flexibility in managing a diverse range of spend categories, applying transferable procurement skills and process in order to address opportunities as well as solve problems

• Proven negotiation experience and an ability to analyse complex pricing models when preparing for/carrying out negotiations or tender exercises

• Good communication and presentation skills and problem-solving skills

• Ability to create and develop business relationships

• Awareness of contract law and its application with competence in negotiating, renewing and structuring supplier contracts

• Competence in cross-functional projects

• Experience in collating and understanding customer requirements

• Being able to make sense of, and allocate different priorities

• Project management training, Negotiation training and SAP or equivalent ERP system experience desirable

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Drive the identification and realisation of opportunities for managed categories of spend, whilst managing risks, within the supply chain so as to deliver optimal contractual, technical and value for money solutions

• Engage and define procurement strategies with key category managers

• Fluency in key market drivers

• Actively participate in cross functional projects delivering risk reduction, innovation and cost advantages in strategic categories of spend

• Ensure compliance with Group Sustainable Purchasing Program

• Support the Company‘s ambition to achieve carbon net zero by 2050

• Maintenance of BES6001 ’Excellent‘ certification

• Use of CSR evaluation tools with all key suppliers

• Identify and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders within business units, Professional Services and Group purchasing teams to keep up-to-date with business intelligence

• Operate in awareness in procurement best practices and latest trends

• Take personal responsibility for own safety and well-being

• Advocate safe working practices across the supply chain so as to cause no harm in the workplace
