The ideal candidate for this Buyer role will have a number of years previous experience with advanced Excel skills and be able to co-ordinate with suppliers and customers for on-time raw material supply.

Due to location you will most likely need your own transport.

Requirements:

• Previous proven experience in a similar buyer / planner position

• Hold a Supply Chain / Business or Administration qualification is desirable

• An Advanced Excel user, especially VLook-ups & Pivot Tables

• SAP or other ERP experience is desirable

• Can remain calm under pressure, work well in a team with good problem solving abilities

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Place PO‘s with suppliers and follow up on order confirmations

• Be pro-active and follow-up as required with relevant supplier to ensure timely delivery of orders, arrange transport and custom declarations if required

• Hold weekly service calls with suppliers, identify and minimise any issues

• Consult with Operations and Customer Service regarding material availability & any potential stock-out

• Process and follow up on new vendor requests

• Prepare, issue & follow up on Supplier Corrective Action Reports and prepare other reports as required

• Ensure document compliance at all times

• Audit and measure supplier performance

• Active participation in process improvement activities
