PART-TIME OUTREACH DEVELOPMENT WORKER – Permanent

20 hours per week – flexible. (3 afternoons required)

Evening and weekend work may be a feature of position

Salary: €19,297.07 per annum

OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB

The ideal candidate will work as part of a team, to support and work in close collaboration with the Project Manager and the Voluntary Board of Management to identify the needs of the local community, develop supports to assist the local community address their identified needs. Maintaining an outreach strategy within the target area that will assist local people.

Essential qualifications / skills

• A third level qualification in Community Development, Family Support Practice or relevant two years‘ work experience.

• Excellent communication skills.

• A clear understanding of Community Development.

• A clear understanding of Confidentiality

• Good facilitation / group work skills/

• Proven experience in accessing funding, making applications for grants etc.

• Excellent IT, social media and report writing skills.

Desirable skills

• Experience working with a diverse and multi-cultural community setting.

• An understanding of budgets and planning.

• Experience working in a community setting (Paid or Voluntary)
