On behalf of our client, RecruitmentPlus are seeking to speak with experienced Engineering or Construction professionals for the post of Technical & Design Manager with a genuinely interesting and growing Co. Meath organisation. This company specialise in the design, manufacture and delivery of custom modular buildings/units for various usages within the commercial, pharmaceutical, educational, recreational and administrative sectors.

The Technical and Design Manager will lead the design team and technical personnel with a key focus being communication between teams, clients, external consultants and sites to ensure effective co-ordination.

Requirements:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Building Surveying or a related discipline or relevant experience.

  • 3+ years‘ experience in design and technical leadership within the construction sector, preferably with offsite construction or modular building systems.

  • Be a leader, able to inspire and guide multi-discipline teams to deliver while managing multiple projects.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, adept at conveying technical concepts to a diverse range of stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in relevant design software eg. AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, and other pertinent tools.

  • Have in-depth knowledge of building codes, regulations and industry best practices along with an appreciation of sustainable design principles and environmentally conscious building practices.

  • Resolute problem-solving skills and a strategic outlook for surmounting challenges and pinpointing avenues for improvement.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee internal and external personnel such as architects, engineers, and designers.

  • Promote collaboration across teams including production, procurement, and project management to ensure alignment between design and project delivery.

  • Supervise architectural and engineering drawings, models, and specifications, aligning with project requirements, quality benchmarks and regulatory standards.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Advocate innovation by exploring new materials, building technologies, and construction methodologies that align with sustainable and eco-friendly practices.

  • Ensure quality control procedures are designed and implemented.

  • Develop meaningful relationships with clients, architects, engineers, consultants and stakeholders, facilitating clear communication and proficient project delivery.

  • Encourage a culture of growth and knowledge exchange within the design department, mentoring team members’ professional development.

  • Keep up to date with industry trends, codes, regulations, and best practices, ensuring our projects remain at the forefront of offsite construction innovation.
