RecruitmentPlus on behalf of our client, have an exciting new Electrical Design Engineer position available with a successful and growing M&E Consultancy. The role has flexibility to be based either in the south east or north east with a hybrid working arrangement from their office just off the M50 in D12 and will include site visits.

They have a client base across Ireland meaning that the successful candidate will be involved in a wide range of commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical and healthcare projects. The success of the company to date has been based on delivering a fully professional, personal and first class quality service to all clients, whilst all the time adopting a hands-on approach to Engineering Design and Project Management.

Role / Core Responsibilities:

• Preparation of drawings, specifications, datasheets and schedules

• Low Voltage installation designs.

• Power distribution system design

• Lighting & emergency lighting system design

• Fire detection and alarm system design

• UPS system design

• Lift Installation design

• Security/Access Control/CCTV System designs

• Data infrastructure cabling design

• Utility provider applications and co-ordination

• Co-ordination with mechanical engineering colleagues

• Budget estimations

• Sign-off on monthly valuations

• Attend site meetings and carry out BCAR inspections

Requirements:

• A relevant 3rd level degree in electrical or electronic engineering

• Ability to read, understand and develop electrical schematics and specifications

• Minimum of 5 years experience in electrical engineering design practices OR on-site implementation of electrical services designs (applications are welcome from electrical trades/technicians who have recently completed an engineering degree)

• Strong AutoCAD experience and skills

• Design software experience desirable (Amtech, Dialux)

• Excellent communications / organizational skills with an ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, client representatives and site based contractors.

• A highly motivated self-starter with strong written and oral communication skills and to work well in a team environment

• Strong computer MS Office skills (PP, Word, Excel)

• Drivers License
