Hours: 35 hours per week

• General office hours Monday to Friday 9.30a.m to 5.30p.m.

• Some regular evening work and occasional weekend work is expected.

Description of Role:

Our client is now seeking a Family Support Worker to join their team in South Dublin.

Requirements:

• A relevant third level degree required, or a minimum of 3 years‘ relevant work experience.

• Knowledge of Tusla‘s Prevention, Partnership and Family Support; Child Protection and Welfare; and Alternative Care Strategies.

• An understanding of child protection risk and harm and Tusla social work business processes.

• Adhere to children‘s first guidance and legislation at all times.

• An understanding of:

o    Community development approach to child protection and family support.

o    The impact of poverty and disadvantage on communities and especially its impact on parenting.

o    Children‘s holistic developmental needs within the context of their family and community.

o    Children‘s rights.

o    Human rights based; outcomes focused; integrated; and preventative child and family services.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop Activities and Services to meet the needs of the Local Community

• Communications and Reporting

• Administration and Finances
