Maintenance Electrician

RecruitmentPlus has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Electrician to work with our client based in Co. Cavan. Our client is a professional and dynamic business that has grown into one of Europe’s leading food processing companies.

You will join an established maintenance team to support the business operations. The successful candidate will be trade qualified with at least 1 year‘s post-qualification experience.

This role will involve shift work on days, start times 5.30am or 10am.

Role/Responsibilities:

• Be familiar with the daily production plan and work as part of the team.

• Repair of industrial production equipment such as high-speed machines, conveyors, packaging machines, gearboxes, bearings, and hydraulics.

• Maintenance of the plant and equipment to optimum performance.

• Ensure real time repair of machines and equipment to get them back up & running within an optimum time frame.

• Assist with the continuous monitoring of all machinery and equipment within the plant.

• Assist the Maintenance Manager with the implementation of preventative maintenance programmes for all machines.

• Document all aspects of maintenance work carried out and keep management informed of potential issues.

• Perform all prestart, hygiene and safety checks as necessary.

• Report all faults, damage or electrical or mechanical defaults to the Maintenance Manager, ensuring all machinery is only used when it is safe to use. Record checks as and when directed.

• Keep breakdowns to a minimum and increase machine availability through continuous improvement.

• Always adhere to company safety policies.

• Document all aspects of maintenance work carried out and keep management informed of potential issues.

Skills/Requirements:

• Relevant Trade Certified Qualification.

• At least 1 year‘s post qualification experience.

• Background within manufacturing/industrial business, preferably within food or packaging industries but not essential.

• IT literate and experienced in automation.

• A high level of attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong oral and written communication skills, enthusiastic, hardworking and energetic.
