RecruitmentPlus on behalf of our client have a great opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join the team working on automated machinery to keep production running smoothly. The successful Maintenance Technician will be crossed skilled on both mechanical and electrical with prior experience/understanding of working in an automated environment.

Attractive working pattern Monday to Friday with one Sunday on call every 3 weeks.

Commutable from areas within Longford, Cavan, Leitrim, Westmeath & Meath

Requirements:

• Strong mechanical or electrical background with a good level of cross-skilling and experience in a manufacturing environment post apprenticeship

• A Trades / Diploma qualification

• Excellent awareness and experience in relation to Quality, Health and Safety

• Experience with planned preventative maintenance, fault finding and problem solving

• A flexible hands on approach and ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team

• Available for call out duties and / or overtime when required

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and planned, preventative, scheduled, predictive maintenance on production equipment

• Carry out equipment surveys

• Electro-mechanical, pneumatics and hydraulics repairs on high-speed PLC controlled plant machinery including handling and packaging equipment and control systems

• Perform detailed root cause analysis on breakdowns to implement corrective repairs

• Suggest improvements to planned preventative maintenance schedules

• Observe and work from initiative to detect faults and make decisions on repair strategy

• Ensure good housekeeping of work area, workshop and stores

• Participate in training and development in cross-skilling and other job-related competencies
