Job Title: National Sales Manager, Ireland – Orthopaedics


Salary: € Negotiable on experience (Package €120-150K)

Description of Role:


This is a superb opportunity for a capable and enthusiastic medical sales manager to take on a dynamic and growing team within our client‘s Orthopaedics Division. You will be joining a FTSE 100 company, headquartered in Dublin with an excellent track record of investment and growth. This is a key management position within the organisation and will be a driving force in building on the company‘s solid base in Orthopaedics. There is solid commitment to investment in, and support of this division and a real energy around building a dream team. If you are a sales manager with experience in Orthopaedic sales ready to take on a new challenge and be part of our client‘s next chapter in growing their market share in Orthopaedic surgery, this could be the role for you. The role will be responsible for leading and managing the current team but will also offer the opportunity to grow the team. This will be a chance to make a mark and progression and development will be very apparent.



  • Candidates will have a successful record of leading and motivating a medical sales team (ideally specifically within and Orthopaedic sales environment).

  • A proven track record of leading consistent sales growth.

  • An understanding of the distributor model and an ability to build high quality, stable and productive partnerships with suppliers.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an open communication style.

  • An entrepreneurial flair to create win/win solutions for customers and suppliers.

  • Commercial and financial acumen, including experience of budgeting and ROI.

  • Proven success in dealing with procurement services and groups.

  • Must be able to work beyond normal hours/weekends when required.

  • Willingness to travel and nationally and overseas as required.

  • Full clean driver license

Responsibilities, In this role you will get the opportunity to:

  • Manage, lead and motivate a sales & clinical team.

  • Coach & develop the team to achieve their potential.

  • Lead, develop and enhance relationships with the major Orthopaedic centres across the HSE/NHS (in Northern Ireland), and all private hospital groups.

  • Take ownership and accountability for implementing actions / initiatives that will drive high performance and conversion of new hospitals.

  • Work with suppliers in developing a shared strategy for the Irish market.

  • Ensure implementation of on-going training requirements, product knowledge and best practices.

  • Champion CRM within the orthopaedic business in building a robust opportunity pipeline.

  • Develop an annual business plan including setting ambitious financial targets.

  • Work with the marketing team to develop a marketing plan including but not limited to KOL education, product / service marketing and digital marketing.

  • Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with processes to manage consignment and loan sets in the business unit.

  • Attend national & international conferences & trade fairs as required.

  • Work with the leadership team on business development with a view to delivering new complimentary agencies for the Orthopaedics business.
