Orthotic Technician (Mold Design)

RecruitmentPlus has an excellent opportunity for an Orthotic Technician to join our client‘s team, based in Dundalk, Co. Louth. The successful candidate will work as part of a busy technical team, providing high quality products and services to a worldwide customer base.



  • Work as part of a busy technical team producing high quality plaster and foam molds to customer/patient specifications.

  • This involves performing cast rectifications by hand to plaster molds to the required shapes and specifications.

  • This will also involve performing design rectifications to digital scanned images and programming of automated mold carving equipment (CAD/CAM).

  • Interpret and understand patient information (measurements, x rays, etc.) and complete mold design to established protocols.

  • Assist the Technical Manager with various projects.

  • Produce positive plaster casts from negative casts that are received from the customer.



  • Previous experience as Orthotic Technician would be an advantage but is not a requirement. Full, on the job training will be provided.

  • Ability to understand and interpret product specification charts.

  • Ability to work to deadlines and achieve manufacturing targets.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Exceptional hand craft skills.
