RecruitmentPlus on behalf of our well-known local and international client are delighted to be recruiting for a Plant Engineer to be based in their manufacturing operations in Kingscourt, Co. Cavan.
The role will be responsible for organising maintenance works, bringing improvements to production and implementing projects through working closely with engineering, maintenance and production teams and established suppliers.

Salary: €50 – €70k DOE

Role / Core Responsibilities:

Manage and drive engineering support to production resulting in optimum availability and performance of production equipment

Continuously optimise maintenance practices to maximise plant reliability and minimize lifecycle cost

Support product changeovers and minimise production line downtime
-
Complete projects as required to improve equipment reliability and operational productivity

Ensure that statutory and regulatory maintenance requirements are satisfied
-
Monitor equipment performance and liaise with equipment suppliers to repair and design out recurring problems
-
Participate in safety reviews or HAZOPs as required
-
Determine and plan preventive maintenance to ensure maximum equipment availability
-
Ensure adequate spare parts are on site to minimise equipment downtime
-
Drive manufacturing productivity improvement through improved quality and cost reduction
-
Manage and maintain the plant and services
-
Monitor and report energy, water and gas usage and drive usage reduction in line with the company environmental commitments.

Assess issues that arise during normal operations and collaborate with the operations team, to identify improvement opportunities and the root cause of process problems.

Strive to reduce costs and improve efficiencies through a detailed knowledge of the process and a continuous goal of eliminating waste

Support new product introduction to optimise process running parameters, product throughput and equipment availability
Requirements:

A minimum of 5 years‘ experience
-
NFQ Level 6 in mechanical or electrical engineering
-
Strong hands-on mechanical and electrical engineering experience
-
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
-
Strong interpersonal skills
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
Ability to work well independently and with a team
-
Proficiency with computer and information technology
-
Thorough understanding of scientific and mathematical principles
