RecruitmentPlus is currently recruiting an exciting opportunity for a Policy Development Executive with one of our clients within their Legal Policy Development and Public Affairs Department.
Working with a very prestigious organisation, the successful candidate will ideally have a Law degree or a degree in Business and Law and have a keen interest in Research and Policy Development.
This is a very exciting opportunity for an experienced legal researcher with good writing and editing skills keen to develop their career within a very prestigious regulatory and educational body.
Day to day the role will involve carrying out research, sourcing materials for policy papers and reports and drafting submissions. The role will also involve writing articles for eZines and Newsletters.
Main Duties & Key Responsibilities

Research and sourcing of materials for policy papers and reports.

Preparation of outline draft Memoranda and reports on policy issues.

Liaising with other relevant professional bodies on policy issues.

Preparing newsletter and e-zine articles, website notices, practice notes and leaflets on policy issues.

Co-ordinating and participating in seminars and workshops on policy issues.

Developing in-depth expertise in specific policy issues as may be assigned.

Developing suitable briefing material for the organisation‘s officers on the specific policy issues that are assigned and becoming the go to person on those areas.

Completion of questionnaires and surveys on the legal profession or on specific policy issues for the purpose of studies undertaken by external bodies.

Working with different committees to establish, develop and communicate policy on discrete issues.

As part of a team of executives, dealing with best-practice queries from members of the profession in relation to a range of issues including money laundering legislation, criminal assets bureau, data protection issues, etc.

Involvement in the development, maintenance and editing of the knowledge management system managed by the policy department.

Acting as Secretary for committees and task forces as may be assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
-
A third-level qualification in law, business and law or similar
-
Exceptional organisational skills
-
An excellent command of written and spoken English
-
A record of success in working on complex matters.

Experience of editing or working as a parliamentary assistant would be an advantage.
