RecruitmentPlus has an exciting new opportunity for a Quality Environmental Health and Safety Manager with a leading employer, operating in a specialised industry, based centrally in Dundalk, Co. Louth.

The successful candidate will take a lead role through the installation of several large construction projects, while being responsible for the day to day running of the site and creating and embedding a continuous improvement culture ensuring all activities are managed within the regulatory framework within a busy FMCG manufacturing facility.



  • Third level qualification in Health and Safety/Engineering or related discipline.

  • Advanced Food Safety Certificate & Level 3 HACCP qualification, qualified within a food / science related subject.

  • At least five years prior QEHS experience in a fast paced, high volume manufacturing environment with demonstrable and transferable skills.

  • Experience working within construction & food manufacturing and H&S on an ATEX site. Experience within a wastewater treatment plant desirable.

  • Previous experience of Quality Management Systems & internal, customer and third-party audits.

  • Drive the development and implementation of the integrated management system in compliance with the requirements of OHSAS and ISO.

  • Knowledge and experience of Lock Out Tag Out/P & IDs/Process Equipment.

  • Excellent communication abilities and computer literate.

  • Excellent organisational skills and be able to work independently, prioritising workload.

  • Proven experience leading a team, possessing drive, energy and resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist Quality, Environmental Health & Safety support and assistance to operations teams where required, on day-to-day matters including but not restricted to; site quality, compliance obligations; accident and incident investigations and reporting; root cause analysis; risk assessment; corrective and preventive actions; training; etc.

  • Lead the HACCP team, ensuring regular reviews, audits and maintenance of the systems.

  • Ensure the site is in full compliance with regulatory guidelines, ensuring continued compliance to ISO and customer audit status requirements.

  • Co-ordinate and implement microbiological and chemical testing schedules, ensuring testing requirements meet site standards.

  • Drive the development of a strong safety-first culture inclusive of all staff and contractors.

  • Manage the delivery of key projects that have an impact on the site objectives, these include but are not limited to LOTO programme, confined space, working at height, chemicals, contractor management.
