RecruitmentPlus on behalf of our client, have an exciting new opportunity for a Technical Leader with an international manufacturer based in Co. Cavan.

The role will hold responsibility for running extrusion lines and supporting other associated areas as a technical super-user within the Plastics production area. Therefore previous plastic extrusion experience is necessary. Experience within a similar technical role, with some experience of supervising or leadership responsibilities is advantageous but full training in the role can be given.

Role / Core Responsibilities:

• Operate extruders and ancillary equipment

• Support Thermo-forming Operation

• Set up, tear down and cleaning of extrusion machines and ancillary equipment

• Read and interpret customer and internal product specifications and prints

• Perform quality inspections on products using a variety of measurement equipment

• Maintains accurate production and QC records

• Participate in the investigation of warranties for products, ensuring correcting actions are effectively implemented

• Troubleshoot issues as needed

• Ability to independently set up the process, within supplied specification

• Ensure that all machine, tools and processes are run in accordance to the proscribed process tolerances and protocols

• Monitor, maintain and improve daily production / stock levels

• Performs housekeeping activities to keep area neat and safe and ensure continuance of good housekeeping practice

• Drive continuous improvement programs.

• Continually strive to improve the manufacturing process & labour variances.

• Maintain and improve material efficiencies

• Perform other duties as directed by management

Requirements/Skills/Experience:

• Plastic Extrusion or relevant experience is essential

• HNC/HND Diploma in a Technical Field (Mechanical / Electrical Engineering)

• Mechanical Aptitude (with previous Technical experience)

• Experience of Supervising a continuous production line

• Excellent communication skills including Microsoft suite

• Excellent communicator – ability to communicate to colleagues at all levels

• Ability to troubleshoot

• Methodical/Logical thinker

• Hands on in their approach
