Due to location you will most likely need your own transport.

Requirements:

  • Hold a Degree or Diploma in a relevant field such as Food Science, Animal Science, Microbiology, Quality Management, Environmental Health.

  • HACCP Certification.

  • Training in Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001, GMP+) – desirable.

  • Internal Auditor Training – beneficial, especially for ISO, BRC, or feed safety standards.

  • Knowledge of feed/food legislation – highly advantageous.

  • Previous experience in a similar role.

  • Attention to detail in documentation and record keeping with good IT skills.

  • High level of integrity, reliability, and accountability.

  • Organised, analytical, pro-active and a team player.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and review of HACCP and Quality Management systems and other codes of practice to ensure compliance and safety.

  • Monitoring and implementation of the Quality Assurance Procedures.

  • Assist with quality control function including incoming inspections, process controls, scheduled quality checks.

  • Carry out routine sampling i.e. sampling of raw materials and finished product, swab the plant to assess hygiene levels.

  • Keeping sampling records and results updated and reporting of the results.

  • Monitor internal Quality Control analysis results and taking corrective and preventive action where results fall outside target specifications.

  • Lead quality initiatives e.g. providing technical support, process improvements.

  • Assist with the investigation of quality issues & taking prompt action to resolve issues, demonstrating effective communication when dealing with customer complaints and quality issues.

  • Recording all non-conformances and returned products along with carrying out investigation, and report findings.

  • Respond to customer queries or complaints in a timely and efficient manner through case management.

  • Trace, investigate, sample and test to find potential root cause of customer complaints or queries.

  • Dispensary operations to include weighments; stock management; reconciliation of additives & medications; validation checks on customer prescriptions, QC approval of materials onto site.

  • Verification, and validation of product re-work streams.

  • Management of test equipment performance via routine maintenance and calibration checks.

  • Carry out internal audits and report findings.

  • Report anomalies in processes, product, or procedures.

  • Update the quality manual and working instructions as necessary.

  • Carry out Quality Induction Training for new employees and maintain training records.

  • Responsible for the day-to-day quality function & assisting in the running of the department.

  • Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to company policies.
