Description of Role:
Our client is now seeking a Credit Risk Analyst to join their team. They will be responsible for analysing credit data and financial statements to evaluate the risks associated with the counterparty‘s (client and prospects) creditworthiness.
The Credit Risk Analyst will use a variety of analytical techniques to evaluate the risks associated with lending to consumers and corporate clients in order to evaluate business risks.
Requirements:

Must have a relevant University degree (Bachelor/master‘s level) e.g. in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration Candidates with higher education on Credit risks topics, combined with adequate knowledge of the financial sector will also be considered

Minimum 1-2 years experience as Credit Analyst for commercial / corporate business

Knowledge about Credit risks including a very good understanding of current requirements in Credit origination

Strong financial analysis and accounting capabilities

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsible for preparing reports consolidating information for use in decision-making and making credit decisions within the defined levels of authority, including when needed to Management Team locally

Be the direct contact with relationship managers (sales team), which is also a part of the 1st line of defence, to complete the first rating checks and explain the different credit decisions so that the relationship managers are better prepared for challenging conversations with clients, if needed

Manage the execution of the necessary risk assessment appropriate to each customer and credit application type

Carry out the evaluation of financial data, such as balance sheets and income statements to determine the level of default risk, including the calculation of financial ratios, interpreting results from decision-making and the preparation of a report to register the required audit trail

For credit origination, you will perform the credit analysis, which includes KYC/CDD (Know Your Customer) elements and the update of rating or scoring and issue a credit opinion

Responsible for registering new customers in a risk system following the registration done by sales, if needed

If the credit application is within their derogation rights, as defined in the delegation letter, you will make the credit decision and proceed to credit authorization. If not, they will be responsible for preparing the credit file to be shared with the second line of defence for validation

For credit review, you are responsible for regular rating / scoring update
