Financial Controller – 3 month contract
South Dublin
Role Purpose
The Financial Controller is responsible for the integrity, accuracy and control of the Group‘s financial reporting and core finance operations. The role owns Group close and consolidation, statutory reporting, audit and compliance coordination, while maintaining a robust financial control environment.
The Financial Controller will also oversee treasury and FX, commissions and incentives, finance systems and key operational finance processes, ensuring they are effective, scalable and appropriately controlled.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Control
-
Own the Group month-end and year-end close and consolidation processes.

Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring timely investigation and resolution of issues.

Ensure accurate and consistent financial reporting across Group entities.

Maintain Group accounting policies and ensure appropriate application of accounting standards.
-
Develop and maintain a robust internal financial control framework.
Statutory Reporting, Audit & Compliance
-
Coordinate statutory financial statements and reporting requirements across Group entities.

Lead the external audit process and manage relationships with auditors.
-
Coordinate tax, regulatory and compliance requirements with internal teams and external advisers.

Ensure appropriate governance, documentation and financial controls are maintained.
Treasury, Investments & FX
-
Maintain and oversee the Group investment and treasury policies and ensure related activities and approval frameworks are in compliance with both.

Oversee treasury operations, including cash management, banking controls and payment processes.
-
Monitor Group foreign exchange exposure and oversee management of appropriate risk mitigations.

Maintain effective authorisation and governance frameworks across treasury, investments and FX activities.
Commissions & Incentives

Oversee systems and related processes to deliver accurate calculation, validation and payment of commissions, bonuses and financial incentives.

Ensure calculations are approved in accordance with established governance framework and are aligned with agreed schemes.

Partner with relevant stakeholders to resolve queries, oversee governance and controls and ensure appropriate documentation for all commission and incentive schemes.
Finance Systems & Operations
-
Oversee the integrity and effective operation of core finance systems and financial data.

Maintain appropriate system access, controls and approval workflows.

Continuously identify opportunities to automate and improve finance processes and strengthen controls.

Provide oversight of core finance operations, including AP, AR, Payroll and Expenses and ensure processes remain effective as the business scales.
Essential Skills & Experience
-
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with relevant post-qualification experience.

Strong experience in Group financial close, consolidation and balance sheet control.

Experience managing statutory reporting and external audits.
-
Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of accounting policies and internal controls.
-
Experience coordinating tax and financial compliance requirements.
-
Knowledge of treasury operations, cash management, investments and FX exposure.
-
Experience improving or automating finance processes and controls.
-
Finance systems implementation, integration or optimisation experience.
-
Exposure to commission or incentive-based compensation.
-
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills.
-
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Must have operated at Financial Controller level (or higher) previously in a multicurrency/multijurisdictional finance environment

Must be comfortable entering a finance function where control issues have arisen and be able to stabilize processes
-
Must be able to operate independently from day one, prioritize effectively and deliver without the need for extensive onboarding or close supervision

Willing and able to get into the detail of day-to-day operations, financial close, reconciliations, reporting, audit preparation, and ensure payments and processes control.
Desirable Experience
-
Experience within an international or multi-entity organisation.

Technology, software or high-growth business experience.
